Ear Cropping Process

The pictures above show exactly how the ears will look once they are cropped. If you are looking for a different style or length, you will need to do your own research and reach out to a different provider to get your option done.

Our European Dobermanns get there ears cropped at 6-9 weeks of age. After they are cropped, we keep them for another 14 days to make sure the ears heal properly and remove the stitches.

Owners of European Dobermann pups are welcome to take home puppies before the stitches come out at their own risk. Owner of puppies that are not getting their ears cropped can take their puppies home at 8 weeks of age, but no earlier.

If owners want to crop the ears at a veterinarian hospital, other than the one we provide, they can do so freely, but they will be responsible for any ear related problems there on.

Please be totally committed if you decide to crop your Dobermann ears!

  1. Do not post or wrap fresh cropped ears until stitches are removed and 100% HEALED.

  2. Check for odors (The ears should not have a foul smell).

  3. Keep the ears dry. If the ears get wet, re-wrap them immediately with dry tape.

  4. If the ears fall as they probably will, you must put them right back up, just remember that for each day you allow them to be down you can add another week of tapping!

  5. If it is raining and you need to walk your puppy who was just cropped, take a grocery bag and cover the ears and tie under the chin, remove as soon as back inside, inspect ears to make sure they did not get wet.

  6. NO BATHS UNTIL EARS ARE COMPLEATLY HEALED, WE BABY WIPE PUPS DURING THIS TIME.
